FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
Are your chocolates handmade?
Yes. All Green Frog Chocolate products are handmade in small batches using high-quality couverture chocolate and carefully sourced ingredients. This allows us to focus on flavour, texture, and finish rather than mass production.
Where are your chocolates made?
Our chocolates are made in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in a registered food production space that has been rated 5/5 from Environmental Health for food safety standards.
Do you use artificial flavours or preservatives?
No. We do not use artificial flavours, or preservatives. All our flavours come from ingredients such as pure fruit purées, dairy, nuts, herbs and spices.
What is the shelf life of your chocolates?
Shelf life varies depending on the filling, but most bonbons are best enjoyed within 2–6 weeks from production. Exact best-before dates are provided with your order.
Because our chocolates are fresh and preservative-free, we recommend enjoying them sooner rather than later for the best experience.
How should I store my chocolates?
Store chocolates in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odours.
Ideal storage temperature is 12–18°C. Refrigeration can cause condensation and affect texture and flavour. If you wish to refrigerate your chocolates, we recommend doing so in an airtight container and allowing everything to come back up to room temperature before unsealing the container to consume.
Do you offer allergen information?
Yes. All products are supplied with full ingredient and allergen information in line with UK food labelling regulations.
Please note that our chocolates are made in an environment that handles milk, nuts, gluten, soy, and other allergens, so we cannot guarantee that products are free from traces.
Can you cater for dietary requirements or allergies?
Some of our chocolates may be already suitable for specific diets (such as vegan, gluten-free or alcohol-free), but availability varies. This information can be found on the product pages and flavour pages.
If you would like to place an order adjusted for dietary or allergy requirements that is not already covered, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss. We can usually cater to most requirements but dispatch will be delayed to allow for additional safety measures during production of your order.
Are your chocolates suitable as gifts?
Absolutely. Our chocolates are designed to be gifted and are packaged thoughtfully to feel special, whether you’re buying for yourself or someone else.
We also offer gift cards and seasonal collections throughout the year.
Do you make chocolates for weddings or events?
Yes. We create bespoke wedding favours, buffet tables, corporate gifts, and event chocolates, including custom flavours, colours, and packaging.
Please get in touch well in advance to discuss availability, minimum quantities, and lead times.
Do you offer custom or bespoke flavours?
We occasionally offer bespoke flavours for weddings, collaborations, or special commissions. These are subject to minimum quantities and development time.
If you have something specific in mind, feel free to contact us to discuss what’s possible.
How are orders shipped?
Orders are carefully packed to protect the chocolates during transit. Shipping methods and costs are shown at checkout.
During warmer or extreme cold weather, we may limit shipping or adjust dispatch schedules to ensure chocolates arrive in good condition.
Do you ship internationally?
At present, we primarily ship within the UK. International shipping may be available on a case-by-case basis — please contact us to enquire.
What if my order arrives damaged?
If there’s an issue with your order, please contact us as soon as possible with photos and your order number. Do not throw the product away before speaking to us as we may need it returning. We’ll always do our best to resolve the issue fairly.
Can I return chocolates?
Due to the perishable nature of our products, we’re unable to accept returns unless an item is faulty or damaged on arrival.
How can I contact you?
You can reach us via the contact form on our website or by email. We aim to respond as quickly as possible, though response times may be slightly longer during busy periods or events.
